Octagon House Opens for Chocolate March Tour

Signs of Spring: the 2014 Chocolate March is underway. The Octagon House Museum will be open on Sunday, March 23, from 1-5 p.m. as part of the Chocolate March. This tour is a chocolate lovers delight!

The Octagon House Museum will be open on Sunday, March 23, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. as part of the 2014 Chocolate March. This tour is a chocolate lovers delight. Visit beautiful and unique B&Bs and museums, as you taste your way through the valley.    

The Chocolate March is a self-guided tour where guests choose a location to start and then visit Bed & Breakfast Inns and historic sites through out the St. Croix River Valley. Each location includes a chocolate treat for guests.

The Chocolate March tours began on Sunday, March16 and continues through Sundays, March 23 and 30. The March 23 tour includes locations in the Hudson and Stillwater area, with tours at the Phipps Inn and the Octagon House Museum in Hudson, WI and the Water Street Inn, Cover Park Manor, Outing Lodge and the Warden’s House Museum in Stillwater, MN.

Purchase tickets in advance for $26 at www.innsofthevalley.com/chocolate-march.htm. Tickets are $30/person when purchased the day of the event. Each person must have a ticket and present it at each location. This event is not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.  

Bring a non-perishable item to be donated to the local food shelves. Second Harvest Heartland and Animal Ark will receive a portion of the ticket sales.

In addition to the Octagon House Museum tour, chocolate treats will be served in the Museum Gift Shop. The Gift Shop features a wide variety of items for the home and garden, Victorian inspired gifts and publications on local history. Also available is the recently released “History of Hudson” documentary. This popular movie is offered as a fundraiser for the St. Croix County Historical Society for a suggested donation of $15 for the 2 DVD set.
