Patch Picks: Five Great Outdoor Patios in Hudson

The downtown restaurant overlooking the St. Croix River has a patio with an outdoor bar and full service offers a classic American menu including their signature chicken wild rice soup, a variety of salads, sandwiches and house-made berries crisp served warm with ice cream. The feel of the interior with vaulted ceilings and large fireplace extends to the patio.

Dining hours are Sunday 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Happy Hour is all day Sunday, Monday-Saturday 3-6 p.m. and Monday-Thursday 9-11 p.m.

The Caribbean-themed eatery on historic Second Street in downtown Hudson brings a little bit of the islands (especially with the recent high heat and humidity) to town. The deck and patio out back have a water fall – with help from a margarita or two you might forget you're near the St. Croix and not the Caribbean.

Hours are Sunday 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.-11 p.m.

After picking up some wine for the weekend at adjoining grab a bite to eat outside at The Nova. Seasonal outdoor seating is a great place to devour a pizza or salad while taking in the view of the limestone bluff.

Dining hours and Tuesday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m,. Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-11  a.m.; the kitchen closes 30 minutes before the restaurant.

Pudge’s Bar

Grab a tap beer and some bar food and head out to the patio at Pudge’s, 302 Second St. The casual atmosphere fosters a simple, straightforward approach to outdoor dining.

The bar is open daily from 8-2 a.m.

Drive just a little ways north of downtown to feast on Italian dining and ask to sit outside on the patio. Take in some wine with your pasta while listening to Italian music.
