River City Chorale & Youth Choirs seeks Singers for 2014-15 Season

The River City Chorale announces their 2014-2015 season, which now includes additional choirs and singing opportunities for both youth and adults in the St. Croix River Valley.

The RCC Youth Choirs is now accepting new singers: grades 3-5 (Amabile Choir) and grades 6-8 (Cantabile Choir). Amabile, will rehearse on Monday nights from 4:30-5:30, while Cantabile will rehearse on Thursdays, from 4:30-5:30pm. Rehearsals will begin on September 29th and October 2nd and will be held weekly at the First Presbyterian Church, of Hudson. Students are required to register on-line. Vocal interviews will be held on Saturday, September 20th from 9-12noon, also at the church. Once Students register on-line, they will be assigned an interview time. Tuition is $100 per student, per semester. Semester 1 runs from October through December and semester two will run from February through May. The choirs will be under the direction of Andrew Haase and LeAnn Stein.

The River City Chorale our large 160+ voice non-auditioned choir will present “Christmas with the Chorale” on Saturday, December 20th (time and location TBA). This concert will feature the Chorale, Youth Choirs and Christmas Brass.

Singers are needed! No audition necessary, just a passion for making music! Rehearsals will begin on Thursday, October 23rd from 7:00-9:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson. Registration and Music pick-up will be on Thursday, October 16th, also at the church. Singers are required to pre-register on-line in order to make sure enough music will be available.

The River City Singers is an auditioned adult choir open to singers age 18+. Interested singers must have previous singing experience and are able to proficiently read music. A vocal audition/interview is required for membership. Interviews will include various vocal exercises, sight reading and tonal and rhythmic memory. Rehearsals will take place on Thursdays from 7:00-9:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson. The Singers will rehearse from late September through mid-October (concert tba) and then will return for rehearsals January through April. (with this schedule, people will be able to sing in both ensembles, if they choose)
