Silver Award, What we Learned

Hey this is Kensie and I'm apart of this Silver Award project with Jessica and Maddy. Our project was to educate people on the abandonment and abused animals and to raise awareness of the issue to the public. We made fliers and distributed them to the surrounding neighborhoods. During this project I learned how to organize meetings with adults and interview them on their opinions. I also learned that breaks are very important to a large project :). I realized that I have no computer skills but Maddy is gifted with technology. I also learned that animal abuse is more common than people thought. Nearly 8,ooo,ooo dogs and cats are being abused per year all over the US. Less than half of that number comes out of it alive. We also made videos to raise awareness to the issue and to convince pet owners to refrain from abusive behavior. We visited Coco's Heart Rescue in Hudson, an organization built on rescuing animals in our community that were being mistreated and abandoned. This organization consists mainly of dogs but also includes cats, and various other animals. I recommend a visit to Coco's for a loving pet.
