Update: Statewide Tornado Drill Rescheduled for Friday, April 19

Due to a chance for tornadoes in Southeastern Wisconsin on Thursday, the statewide Tornado Drill has been postponed until Friday, April 19, according to the St. Croix County Emergency Support Services Facebook page. 

• 1 p.m. – Statewide Mock Tornado Watch Issued
• 1:45 p.m. – Statewide Mock Tornado Warning Issued

You'll likely hear sirens going off Thursday afternoon, but don't worry—it's only a drill.

A statewide tornado drill will take place on Thursday, April 18, with a mock tornado watch at 1 p.m. and a mock tornado warning at 1:45 p.m., according to a news release issued by Wisconsin Emergency Management.

From the release:

On Thursday, April 18, 2013, a statewide tornado drill is planned. At 1:00pm, the National Weather Service will issue a statewide mock tornado watch and at 1:45pm a statewide mock tornado warning. Many radio and TV stations will participate in the drill. In addition, NOAA weather radios (also known as emergency weather radios) will issue alert messaging. This is an ideal opportunity for schools, businesses and families to practice safe procedures for severe weather.

Minnesota is holding its statewide drill on the same day and time.
