Stevens Point Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injury After Rollover on I-94 Wednesday

A 33-year-old Stevens Point man suffered life-threatening injuries after the vehicle he was driving rolled over on I-94 near Baldwin.

ST. CROIX COUNTY -- A 33-year-old Stevens Point man suffered life-threatening injuries after the vehicle he was driving rolled over on I-94 Wednesday.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, at approximately 5:45 a.m., a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper responded to a one vehicle roll-over crash on I-94 eastbound at mile marker 23 in St. Croix County.

The vehicle, which was driven by Matthew T. Stennett, was traveling westbound on I-94, when he traveled through the median. The vehicle then rolled over and came to a stop on its roof in the eastbound lane of I94.

State Trooper officials say Stennett was partially ejected and was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN with life threatening injuries.

One lane of I-94 eastbound was closed for a short period of time while Fire and EMS transported the driver from the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the WI State Patrol.

Early reports from the State Patrol indicate Stennett was not wearing his seat belt. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to the State Patrol.
