• Two people killed in Town of Concord crash (wdtimes.com) — Two people were killed and two others injured when a car and two motorcycles collided Sunday morning on County Trunk F near Highway 18 in the Town of Concord. Jefferson County deputies, local fire departments, EMS, and the medical examiner responded, and the Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team continues to examine what led to the fatal crash.
   

• Wisconsin reports first case of bird flu since March 2026 (blogspot.com) — Recent bird flu outbreaks in Wisconsin have directly affected Jefferson County poultry farms, with earlier 2026 cases leading to mass bird losses and wastewater issues locally. The newest case is in Barron County, but it follows several southern Wisconsin incidents, including Jefferson County, that brought quarantines, depopulation, odors from carcass composting, and disruptions to poultry shows and local jobs.
