Here are the top stories in Madison today:

  1. Two teenage girls were arrested following a mask dispute on a bus at the West Towne Mall Monday afternoon. Police said the 15-year-old and 17-year-old girls threatened the Metro Transit bus driver after he asked them to put on masks. After getting off the bus, the 15-year-old threw a shoe at the bus and kicked one of its windows, shattering it. Twenty officers responded to the call, one of whom suffered an injury that required being taken to a hospital. Both girls were arrested and charged for the incident. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
  2. Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and three Common Council members are looking to make it easier for Madison homeowners to build accessory dwelling units (ADUs). A new proposal would change ADUs from a conditional to a permitted use, allowing owners to avoid the usual lengthy approval process. This proposal would increase housing availability and variety among Madison's many single-family homes, giving residents more accessible housing options, said Councilmember Tag Evers. 3. For the 15th year in a row, Madison College culinary arts students and their instructors are cooking turkeys at the Truax campus to help the River Food Pantry with its upcoming Thanksgiving dinner distribution. (WKOW)
