  1. The Madison City Council is allocating $700,000 in one-time grants to local nonprofits that help undocumented immigrants. The decision was made in a 14-6 vote during the council meeting on Tuesday night, with some Common Council members at odds over the intended recipients of the funds. Six out of the eight grant recipients are organizations that work mainly with Latinx immigrants. (Daily Cardinal)
  2. Police have arrested a man who was discovered inside a running truck with a BAC over three times the legal limit. An employee of the company where the truck was parked called the police around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning. Officers say the man — who was arrested on tentative charges of trespassing, obstructing, and bail jumping — had a BAC of .289 when they arrived at the scene. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
  3. A 12-year-old girl from Madison has started her own nonprofit to help out the city's homeless population. Audree Brunke's organization, Happy Feet Madison, aims to provide clean socks to as many unhoused people in the city as possible. Brunke has partnered with several local businesses and organizations to set up donation bins and has already collected more than 650 pairs of socks. (WKOW)
