UW-Madison’s Biocore Outreach Ambassadors will be visiting our museum on Saturday, October 10th at 10 am for an interactive presentation on Form Fits Function. Many times the structure of something, that is, the way it’s shaped, is so it can perform a certain function. For example, you scoop things with a spoon and poke things with a fork. The same thing happens in nature! Fish have fins to swim through water, while birds have wings to fly through air. This is a fun opportunity for kids to have a hands-on experience with science.Kids will try to move different objects, like marbles, marshmallows, styrofoam peanuts and more with different utensils.Biocore Outreach Ambassadors make science fun and engaging.www.blackearthchildrensmuseum.org

Minocqua Brewing Company | Madison Taproom

Tani Diakite has captured the spirit of Wasulu music in its most colorful arrays, layering blends of funky percussion with soulful vocals and bright, native stringed instruments.
Tani himself plays the Kamale n’goni, a West African ancestor to the banjo. Wasulu music is known to charm the spirits of the animals that Malian hunters sought. With a musical ancestry that helped pave the way for new genres, Wasulu music not only establishes the roots of blues and world music, but also hints at its emerging relatives such as bluegrass and folk.View Tickets & More Info
