High Strung is a trio sampling from the different kinds of music within the genre of Americana. Our sets include bluegrass, the blues, folk and country. We incorporate both old-time and contemporary tunes into our shows. We use guitars, harmonica, baritone ukulele, and a dulcimer-like instrument called the strumstick to power warm vocals and tight harmonies.&nbsp;

The Krause Family Trio is fronted by Kansas Music Hall of Famer, Rick Krause (guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals) with his daughters Katie Krause (vocals) and Ruthie McQuinn (fiddle and vocals). Featuring heartfelt originals and covers ranging from the Mills and Everly Brothers to Tom Waits and Linda Ronstadt, their close family harmonies won them a MAMA in 2025 and a WAMI in 2024 for their Ensemble Vocals.

Ethan Keller is a singer-songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was voted Solo Artist of the Year in the 2011 Radio Milwaukee Music Awards, and Pop Artist of the Year in the 2011 Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Awards.
Ethan produces a variety of original music, often mixing folk, blues, and rock, with jazz, funk, and R &amp; B. He has been performing for over 30 years, and has toured in more than 35 states.
Ethan has supported a myriad of artists over the years, including Rusted Root, Umphreys McGee, Milky Chance, Charli XCX, Grupo Fantasma, Medeski Scofield Martin &amp; Wood, James McCartney, Kandace Springs, Glenn Tillbrook, Willy Porter, Erin McKeown, Fareed Haque, Danny and The Juniors, Hanson, Bif Naked, The Exies, Crown City Rockers, Citizen King, Better Than Ezra, Lucky Boys Confusion, Night Ranger, Third Eye Blind, The Lost Trailers, and NEEDTOBREATHE.
Keller was the founder and front-man of Wisconsin's eclectic funk-rock outfit, The Green Scene (voted "America's Best Unsigned Band" in Jim Beam's 2001 National Rock Band Search).
Keller’s 2010 EP Profit, was co-produced by Grammy-winner Ted Greenberg ("Standing in the Shadows of Motown"), and has aired on 100s of radio stations across the U.S. Ethan’s music is currently in rotation at WYMS 88.9 Radio Milwaukee.
Ethan's last EP “Carried Away” was released on Driftless Records in October 2017. Since then, he has released several singles in advance of his double album project, set for release at the end of 2026.

Ethan Keller at Minocqua Brewing Company's Madison Taproom!

We are excited to host Matt Brooks for his first performance at Minocqua Brewing Company's Madison taproom! Matt has an outstanding classical pedigree, and also plays with several other projects, so in addition to future classical performances you may spot him other times.

Born and raised in Oconomowoc, WI, Matt Brooks began his musical journey at the age of eight. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 2014 with a BA in Music, specializing in classical guitar. During his time in Texas, Matt taught private guitar lessons and played in multiple original and cover bands around Dallas/Ft. Worth until he accepted the first of three cruise ship contracts in 2016 as the showband guitarist aboard the Norwegian Jade.
After returning to Wisconsin, Matt moved to Madison in 2017 and currently performs as a soloist at weddings and other events around the state and plays with the Milwaukee-based Myles Wangerin Band, as well as his new projects, Gypsy Vanner and Discount Flannel.
Matt now resides with his family in Lodi, Wisconsin, where he recently opened Matt Brooks Guitar Studio for private guitar and bass instruction.<a href="https://eventvesta.com/events/143565/t/tickets" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">View Tickets &amp; More&nbsp;Info</a>
