Here are the top stories today in Madison:
- COVID-19 testing is surging in Dane County ahead of Thanksgiving holiday travels. Pharmacies are running out of PCR tests, and rapid tests are harder to come by than usual this week. Whether you're able to get tested or not, experts recommend people continue to wear masks to gatherings and to wait a few days if they've been in close contact with someone who tested positive before getting their own test. - On Wednesday, the foundation started by American Girl founder Pleasant T. Rowland announced a gift of $1 million for the Black Business Hub, a new enterprise center in Madison dedicated to supporting underserved entrepreneurs. The proposed four-story building will be prominently placed at the corner of Park Street and Hughes Place. The donation equals a full third of the amount the Urban League is trying to raise before breaking ground next month. (WMTV - NBC15)
- After canceling last year's performance due to the pandemic, Dance Wisconsin is marching forward with its 44th performance of "The Nutcracker." It will be held at the Wisconsin Union Theater on Dec. 18 and 19, 2021. (WKOW)
