Here are the top 3 stories in Madison today:
- A Dane County student won the Badger State Spelling Bee for the fourth year in a row! Maya Jadhav is an eighth-grader from Vishva Home School and won the contest out of 54 other students. This was the first in-person spelling bee since 2020, and Jadhav now plans to travel to Washington, DC, later this year for the Scripps National Spelling Bee and for the 2022 Raytheon Technologies Mathcounts Competition. - A UW-Madison researcher organized and held a bake sale over the weekend. All of the profits raised were to benefit Ukraine. The event raised more than $1,000. If you're interested in donating but couldn't make the bake sale, you can contribute on the bake sale's website posted in the link. (97 Seven Country WGLR)
- The Dark Horse Art Bar will be celebrating 420 and Canndigenous' anniversary in a night filled with activity on Apr. 20. A cannabis expert will head a Canndigenous Bud Bar, serving CBD-only cannabis strains. Canndigenous is a Native American-owned hemp producer based in Wisconsin. You can RSVP to the event on their Facebook page. (Isthmus)
