- The Madison Metropolitan School District's Board of Education is set to vote on Monday night on a proposal to rename James Madison Memorial High School in honor of Vel Phillips. The vote comes after months of discussion and, if passed, the renaming would take effect at the beginning of the next school year. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
- In November, the Madison Jazz Society awarded grants totaling $7,320 from its School Grant Fund to music programs in Wisconsin schools to help students learn about and perform jazz.
