1. The Madison Police Department is seeking community input on a long-term strategic plan. The five- to seven-year plan is being developed in coordination with Matrix Consulting Group and will address topics such as community policing, crime and safety, and police staffing. Community members interested in providing input can register online for an online virtual meeting in April. (97 Seven Country WGLR)
2. Public Health Madison Dane County has extended the availability of COVID-19 testing at Alliant Energy Center until June. The clinic was initially scheduled to close this Saturday, Apr. 2, but the organization's DHS-contracted partner, Accelerated Clinical Labs, has decided to extend its stay in Dane County. PHMDC also still offers mobile vaccination clinics and a list of trusted testing partners on its website. (WKOW)
3. Dane County Fair has announced that it is seeking participants for its first-ever Rockstars in the Ring event. The new livestock show for youth with an intellectual disability will be held on Sunday, Jul. 24 at 1:00 p.m. and will give participants the opportunity to show a pig, rabbit, or sheep. Participants must be between eight and 19 years of age with an intellectual disability and pre-register online by Jun. 15. (HNGnews.com)
