Here are the top three stories in Madison today:
- The Madison City Council has announced that Karen Kapusta-Pofahl will serve as its second-ever chief of staff. The position supports the 20 council members while managing the Council Office. Kapusta-Pofahl served as a legislative analyst in the office before accepting the chief of staff position. (Madison.com)
- The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man who was killed outside of the Dane County Jail last week. Dwayne Collins Junior, 32, was shot while walking in the 200 block of Carroll Street. Collins was pronounced dead at a local hospital on Mar. 30. An investigation is being conducted by the Madison Police Department. (WMTV – NBC15)
- Scientists at UW-Madison are reportedly working on bringing a bird flu vaccine to the market. The vaccine will hopefully lower the price of eggs, according to egg producers throughout the state. There have been two bird flu outbreaks in Wisconsin. (WDJT)
