Here are the top 3 stories today in Madison:

  1. On Tuesday night, Madison city leaders unanimously voted to approve a permanent version of Madison's "Streatery" program. Initially created during the beginning of the pandemic, the program allows bars and restaurants to add outdoor seating options in shared public spaces, and private property. It has been extended several times since it started, due to its positive response from patrons and businesses, but now, folks will be able to enjoy outdoor seating for even longer! 2. On Tuesday morning, two Madison deputies were injured in a resident attack. The deputies were doing their wellness checks in a cell block when the attack occurred. Two charges are being placed against Timothy Thomas, 32, for battery to a law enforcement officer, and are being referred to the District Attorney's office. One officer was injured so severely, he was hospitalized while the other faced less severe injuries. (WKOW)
  3. The Dane County Farmers' Market is celebrating its 50th anniversary on Apr. 16! The market is not only is a hub for fresh and healthy food but currently has close to 250 Wisconsin producer-members, which makes it the largest producer-only farmers' market in the country! The market will return to Capitol Square in just a few weeks, and will be there every Saturday from 6:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. until Nov. 12! Do not miss out on this fun, historic attraction!
