  1. A Los Angeles-area pharmaceutical company is planning to build a major pharmaceutical manufacturing and research facility outside of Madison where it will invest up to $250 million and create 250 jobs. Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals Inc. said it has completed the purchase of 13 acres in the Verona Technology Park in Verona. (Milwaukee Business Journal)
  2. The Department of Natural Resources will hold a public hearing in early January on its final rule proposal to more than double the commercial harvest of lake whitefish in the southern waters of Green Bay. The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 4; it will be held via Zoom. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
  3. Several individuals with ties to the UW–Madison School of Education were presenters at an International Network of Education Institutes (INEI) virtual webinar, "Language and Literacy Education: Cross-National Experiences." The webinar, hosted by the School of Education at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, invited faculty and graduate students from around the world to share their expertise and engage in discussions around literacy.
