  1. Officials at Public Health Madison and Dane County announced their clinic appointments are completely booked into next week and are promoting other COVID-19 test options. On Monday, PHMDC tweeted that they currently have no available appointments until at least next week, with everything booked until Monday, January 3 as people look to get tested after holiday gatherings. The National Science Foundation has released its 2020 fiscal year Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) data and the University of Wisconsin–Madison has again ranked 8th in the national research rankings for public and private universities.   • This week's Featured Artist in honor of the Museum of Wisconsin Art's 60th Anniversary is Sylvia Fein, who turned 102 in 2021. Fein is a surrealist painter and author who works primarily in the ancient medium of egg tempura. (Instagram)
  • Streets Division crews worked through the night responding to last night's snowstorm, but you should still plan on a slow morning commute. Once the snows began, thirty-two trucks circled through the more than 800 miles of traffic lanes that make up our salt routes. These are the main thoroughfares of Madison such as the roads around schools, hospitals, and those used by Madison Metro for their bus routes. (Facebook)
