Here are the top stories in Madison today:

  1. On Thursday over roughly 150 people registered for a public hearing regarding the new district maps proposed by a GOP-led legislature. Many speakers felt that the maps took away their vote. The maps would maintain a Republican advantage. (The Cap Times)
  2. A group of nine former Madison East students are filing a lawsuit against their former teacher, David Krutchen and the Madison school district over hidden cameras. The students allege that both Krutchen, who was arrested in January 2020, and the school district violated their fourth and 14th amendment rights. (Isthmus)
  3. If you see plastic flamingos covering Bascom Hill, that's because it's time for the University of Wisconsin-Madison's annual 'Fill the Hill.' What started as a prank in 1979, has since turned into a major fundraising event. (Daily Cardinal)
