Here are the top stories today in Madison:

  1. Global supply chain shortages are affecting business—and, of course, Madison is no exception. Customers might find these shortages especially noticeable in grocery stores or businesses looking to build homes or in need of manufacturing parts. (Wisconsin State Journal)
  2. James LaGro, a professor of urban and regional planning at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, explains how and why Madison needs to focus on sustainability—especially as its population continues to grow. This includes a need for the city to invest in public transportation, accessible park space and expanding social/economic opportunities for residents. (WORT)
  3. A Madison mother and daughter duo are using their art to help out koalas in Australia. Through their Etsy shop, HisaCatEyeDesigns, they sell multi-use neck gaiters that feature drawings of eyes. (WMTV - NBC15)
