- According to Madison Police Department, officers responded to La Follette High School around 1:40 p.m. after school administrators received an anonymous tip that led to the arrest of a student for allegedly having a loaded gun inside the school on Thursday. The suspect, who was identified as 18-year-old Marquan T. Webb, was transported to the Dane Co. jail where he was booked on several counts, including possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm on school property, and possession of a stolen firearm. - The family of a leukemia patient who contracted Legionnaires' disease at UW Hospital in 2018 has filed a lawsuit seeking damages in his death. Siblings of 66-year-old Dennis Frye filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Dane County Circuit Court alleging the hospital was negligent because its water supply was contaminated. - A new sorting technology installed by Madison's recycling contractor, Pellitteri Waste Systems, now allows Madison residents to recycle disposable paper cups. (Madison.com)
