Here are the top 3 stories in Madison today:

  1. On Monday, Madison chef, Gil Altschul opened up his new restaurant, Bandit Tacos & Coffee in the city's former train depot. The menu highlights Mexican cuisine with fresh, housemade tortillas that accompany specialty meats, fish, and vegetarian choices. Bandit is in the train depot's former lunchroom and passenger platform due to renovations by architect James McFadden. Altschul's goal is to give customers a relaxing and beautiful experience as they enjoy home-cooked food and tortillas. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
  2. Do you love music? The 2022 Make Music Madison festival is looking for venues and performers for this year's series of events! The 10th annual outdoor, city-wide event is planned to take place Jun. 21 and will feature live music all day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Event organizers are looking for community spaces, places of worship, local businesses, and area parks to sign up to host concerts. They are also looking for a variety of talent regardless of genre or experience level. Venue registration begins on Mar. 25 and performer registration opens up on Apr. 1! There are zero fees or limits on the number of musicians or locations. (WMTV – NBC15)
  3. One of the Madison area's largest employers, Meriter, plans to increase its minimum wage. Beginning on Apr. 4, UnityPoint Health – Meriter workers will start earning at least $17 per hour, nearly $10 more than the state's minimum wage. The healthcare system announced the change on Wednesday and current staff members will not have a long wait to see their pay increase. Staff members who are currently earning less than $17 an hour will not be the only ones getting a change in pay. UnityPoint Health has also announced that employees making amounts close to that will also be seeing a raise. (WMTV – NBC15)
