The Census is still being conducted and individuals are highly encouraged to respond online, if possible. However, based on current concerns with COVID-19, important changes to the Census timeline have been made.

Schedule changes include extra time for individuals to respond online and get support from Census Bureau staff, and more time for staff to conduct follow-up interviews with people who have not responded.

Remember: an accurate census count not only establishes a count of the population, but many educational assistance programs rely on it for funding. Among those is Title I of the Every Student Succeeds Act, which is designed to close achievement gaps and ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education in Wisconsin schools.
