Here are the top stories today in Madison:
- The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has approved tuition increases for out-of-state undergraduates and graduate students at seven campuses. Out-of-state undergrads at UW-Madison would have to pay $743 more, which is the biggest dollar increase in the plan. (WMTV - NBC15)
- The City of Madison Fire Department released the most likely cause of a fire that erupted this June at a business on Madison's near west side. Officials say the blaze was most likely electric-related and involved equipment located above the front entryway of the Qdoba on the 2700 block of University Avenue. (WMTV - NBC15)
- Madison's police and fire commission is set to meet Monday as the city searches for a new fire chief to replace retiring Chief Steven Davis. The commission will meet at 5 p.m. on Monday to hear from Davis, as well as retired Chief Randy Bruegman and others, as the process to replace Davis moves forward. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
