  1. A fire at a Madison home was sparked from used coals and ashes from a recently-used fireplace. Madison Fire Department responded to the fire at the 1300 block of Woodvale Drive where neighbors had already extinguished the flames using snow and fire extinguishers. The Madison Fire Department reminds the community that they need to wait 72 hours before disposing of coals and ashes to let them cool. (97 Seven Country WGLR)
  2. The Madison Police Department is currently investigating a confrontation that resulted in a man getting shot at. The shooting occurred on Hammersley Road and thankfully nobody was injured. The male suspect, according to Madison Police, shot into the victim's car and hit the front passenger door. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
  3. The Wisconsin Union's annual Winter Carnival and the Wisconsin Alumni Association's Winter Carnival Family Fun return to in-person celebrations this year. Events will be held from Feb. 7 through Feb. 12 at Alumni Park and the Memorial Union. All guests must follow UW-Madison health protocols requiring masks while indoors. (WMTV - NBC15)
