Contaminated Water Found at Two Menomonee Falls Schools

Copper and a bacteria have been found at two schools, students and staff restricted to bottled water as the district works on the problem.

MENOMONEE FALLS -- Students and staff at two Menomonee Falls schools have been restricted to drinking bottled water only after officials found contaminated water at the schools.

According to a report from North Shore Now, a classroom sink has tested positive for copper at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, and the bacteria coliform was found in the water at Valley View Elementary School in the Menomonee Falls School District.

Results from the water testing at Ben Franklin will be available after Thanksgiving. The district is working on flushing and sanitizing the system and will retest the water at Valley View, North Shore Now is reporting.
