Menomonee Falls Baseball Team Going Back to State

MENOMONEE FALLS -- The reigning champs are back in the state championships, and are looking to add some more hardware to the team's stellar tradition.

Semifinals -

9:05 a.m.Game #1 - Marquette (26-6) vs. Oak Creek (31-2)
Game #2 - New Holstein (20-10) vs. Menomonee Falls (23-10)*

Defending champion Menomonee Falls is making its seventh appearance. The Indians have recorded three runner-up finishes to go with their one title. Those runner-up finishes came in 1968, 2001 and 2004.

They finished third in the Greater Metro Conference standings this season behind Oak Creek and Marquette, who have also advanced to State. The Indians defeated West Bend West 10-6 to capture the title of the Germantown Sectional and advance to the State semifinals.

The Knights are Back
Oak Creek will be making its eighth appearance at the State Tournament and its second in the last three years. The Knights’ four titles are the most of any program, and they are the only program to win three straight championships (2003-2005). They added another title in 2012. The Knights are the 2016 champions in the Greater Metro Conference this year, and they advanced through the South Milwaukee Sectional with a 12-4 win over Muskego in the final.
