Menomonee Falls School District Sets Record for Number of AP Scholars

MENOMONEE FALLS — Students in the Menomonee Falls School District have given officials even more to be proud of after 107 were named Advanced Placement Scholars this year - the most ever in a single year for the district.

These AP scholars are students that take rigorous coursework during the school year and complete three or more advanced placement tests in spring and score a three or better.

Of the 107 AP Scholars, five students have been named National AP Scholars, an accolade that typically only one MFHS student is awarded. The national rank is given to students that score an average of 4 on all AP exams and 4 or higher on eight or more exams. AP tests scores are ranked 1-5.

“This is a tribute to the hard work of our students and the commitment of our staff across levels,” said Dr. Pat Greco, SDMF Superintendent. “These results demonstrate the growth of our students academically and the access we are providing as a district to higher levels of achievement.”

Out of the 107 AP Scholars, 24 are considered an AP Scholar with Honor, receiving a 3 or higher on four or more advanced placement tests. A total of 36 students are considered an AP Scholar with distinction, receiving a 3 or higher on five or more advanced placement tests.

The school district provides a total of 25 AP courses ranging from art to psychology to statistics. Last year, students had taken more than 700 AP tests total and 29 percent of the students at MFHS participated.

“We have educators working really hard with deeply committed students and families,” Dr. Greco said. “These results, the growth of our career academies, and the graduation success of all sstudents demonstrate improvement and students who are thriving.”
