Menomonee Falls Senior Center Recognized for Excellence in Service
The Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce has recognized the Menomonee Falls Senior Center as the recipient of the Community Service Award.

MENOMONEE FALLS, WI— The Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce has recognized the Menomonee Falls Senior Center as the recipient of the Community Service Award. The Community Service award is presented to an organization or business for its work and accomplishments in making Menomonee Falls a better place to live and raise a family.
The Senior Center, operated through the School District of Menomonee Falls Community Education & Recreation Department has been enhancing the quality of life for older adults by providing recreational, educational, and social opportunities.
“The real reward, however, is seeing how our programs are enriching our senior’s lives by keeping them active and engaged,” said Lori Oertel, Older Adult Supervisor for CE&Rec, a department wholly operated by the School District of Menomonee Falls. “Our center allows them the opportunity to make new friends, and participate in activities they enjoy.”

The Senior Enrichment Fair will be celebrating its 9th anniversary this year, and is attended by more than 150 older adults.
The Hand-in-Hand event incorporates walking with elementary school children to help benefit the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry, and a free Senior Dance, Puttin’ on the Ritz, is held each year. CE&Rec is also proud to host the Veterans Day Salute program open to all members of the community.

“The success of the Senior Center would not be possible without the tremendous support from the School District, Village and community members,” said Jason Husslein, Director of CE&Rec.
“We are fortunate to have Lori Oertel as a part of our team advocating and providing program opportunities for older adults.”
