Menomonee Falls Students Earn Good Marks on Forward Exam

The results are in, and Menomonee Falls students performed above state averages in English and Math in the Forward Exam.

MENOMONEE FALLS — The results are in, and Menomonee Falls students performed above state averages in English and Math in the Forward Exam - the state's third standardized test in the last three years.

The Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS) results for students in grades three through eight exceeded the state performance in both English language arts and mathematics for the 2015-2016 statewide exams.

Results indicated that 53.7 percent (state 43.5 percent) of the district students were proficient or advanced in English language arts and 53.9 percent scored (state 43.3 percent) at the proficient or advanced levels in mathematics.

Menomonee Falls also outpaced the state in both science (SDMF 53.5 percent v. state 51.2 percent) and social studies (SDMF 56.2 percent v. state 51 percent).

“Our amazing students demonstrated a high level of performance on the state Wisconsin Forward/DLM exams last spring,” said Superintendent Dr. Patricia Greco. “We are very proud of our students, teachers, families and the community support for our district.”

Both the state mandated Wisconsin Forward and Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) exams, which made up the Wisconsin Student Assessment System for grades three through eight (mathematics, English language art, science and social studies) and grade ten (social studies only), are aligned with the Wisconsin Academic Standards.
