Thomas Jefferson mosaics go up for auction: Own a piece of school district history

The tile mosaics that hung in Thomas Jefferson School for many decades are up for auction on the school district's website starting May 15.

MENOMONEE FALLS, WI — The tile mosaics that hung in Thomas Jefferson School for many decades are up for auction on the school district’s website starting May 15.

The three mosaics that hung in Thomas Jefferson School are now up for auction. Each mosaic stands at about 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide and weighs approximately 75 pounds.

The material makeup of these mosaics are unknown as any testing for harmful materials like lead or asbestos would harm the structural integrity of the pieces. As such, all bid winners will be required to sign a release relieving the district of any liability.

This auction will close on May 31. The winners of the bids will be contacted directly to arrange pick up of their mosaic. The district will not be able to deliver or place these mosaics in your home.

The current holders of bids will be listed on the school district’s website www.sdmfschools.org. The proceeds from this auction will go to the Menomonee Falls Scholarship Foundation to further assist Menomonee Falls High School Students in achieving their dreams of being college & technical college bound.
