MILWAUKEE — Somewhere between 6 and 10 inches of snow could fall across southeastern Wisconsin on Tuesday, according to the latest forecast.

"Heavy wet snow possible," the National Weather Service said. "Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches possible near the lake and 6 to 10 inches farther inland. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph."

A winter storm watch is in effect for Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha Counties throughout Tuesday.

"Travel could be very difficult," the NWS added. "The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute. Snow will begin Monday evening, but the most impactful period of accumulating snow is expected during the day Tuesday into Tuesday night."

Monday: Cloudy, with a high near 36. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday Night: Snow, mainly after midnight. Low around 32. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tuesday Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 35. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Tuesday Night: Snow. Low around 29. Windy, with a north wind 15 to 25 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Windy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. West wind around 15 mph.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 27.
