Man Arrested In Shooting Death of 13-Year-Old Girl: Report
The shooting took place in one of Milwaukee's poorest neighborhoods - and just blocks from Milwaukee North Division High School.

MILWAUKEE, WI --Police in Milwaukee say they've made an arrest in the case of a 13-year-old girl who was shot and killed in her home late Monday.
According to Milwaukee police, members of the community were able to provide enough information, allowing officers to locate and arrest a 26-year-old man. Police say they've forwarded charging recommendations to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office, and expect the man to be charged in the coming days.
According to a Journal Sentinel report this morning, the girl was identified as Sandra Parks, an eighth-grader at Keefe Ave. School. The reported that she was identified by her aunt, who asked the paper to be identified only as Toya.

According to U.S. Census figures, the shooting took place in one of Milwaukee's poorest neighborhoods - and just blocks from Milwaukee North Division High School - Milwaukee's most poorly-performing school according to the State Department of Public Instruction.
According to Milwaukee police, officers were called to a report of multiple gunshots fired on the 2700 block of North 13th St. on Monday, at around 7:47 pm.

Police said the gunshots were fired from the street toward the home. Parks, who had been in a front room of the house, was struck and killed. Police said they are working to determine a possible motive for the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
"It doesn't get any worse than a child so young. It's one of the worst things that can happen," said Inspector Timothy Heier with MPD in a FOX 6 report.
