2 Dead After Wrong-Way Driver Crash On Interstate 43: Reports

A wrong-way driver led to a crash on I-43 near South Chase Avenue early Wednesday morning and two people are dead, according to reports.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A wrong-way driver crashed on Interstate 43 south early Wednesday morning near South Chase Avenue in Milwaukee, injuring two people who have since died, according to multiple media reports.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office announced a closure for the southbound lanes around 2 a.m., with traffic being diverted off at Becher Street, a tweet from the office said. Two people were seriously injured in the crash and brought to a hospital where they died, according to a report by TMJ4 News.

Traffic information from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and reports say the highway has since been re-opened.
