These Milwaukee Suburbs Have The Fastest-Growing Home Prices In 2026

One lake area community saw home values jump more than $220,000 in a single year, according to new Zillow data.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A handful of small communities on the western edge of the Milwaukee metro area are seeing some of the fastest home price growth in the state.

According to Zillow's Home Value Index, which tracks smoothed, seasonally adjusted home values across the country each month, the typical home value in the Milwaukee-Waukesha metro area rose between July 2025 and July 2026.

That overall number hides wide swings from community to community, though.

Here are the nine Milwaukee-area communities with the biggest home value increases over the past year, based on Zillow's most recent data.

1. Oconomowoc Lake, Waukesha County: $1,842,259 to $2,062,386, up 11.9%
2. Butler, Waukesha County: $282,573 to $308,853, up 9.3%
3. Wayne, Washington County: $480,506 to $524,950, up 9.2%
4. North Prairie, Waukesha County: $465,191 to $504,968, up 8.6%
5. Ottawa, Waukesha County: $606,855 to $658,360, up 8.5%
6. Addison, Washington County: $422,703 to $458,139, up 8.4%
7. Hartland, Waukesha County: $625,709 to $676,745, up 8.2%
8. Hales Corners, Milwaukee County: $386,713 to $417,383, up 7.9%
9. Dousman, Waukesha County: $469,856 to $506,886, up 7.9%

Six of the nine communities on the list are in Waukesha County, west of the city of Milwaukee. Oconomowoc Lake had the largest dollar increase of any Milwaukee-area community, with its typical home value climbing more than $220,000 in a single year.

By contrast, the region's largest cities barely moved. The city of Milwaukee saw values rise 3.3% over the same period, while West Allis was up 3.9% and Wauwatosa 4.4%. The city of Waukesha, itself in the county with most of this year's fastest growth, rose 6.3%.

Zillow's Home Value Index reflects the typical home value for the middle third of a market rather than a strict median.

Several of the smaller communities on this list have far fewer total home sales than the region's larger suburbs, so their percentage changes can shift more dramatically from a handful of transactions.
