$33K For Two Seats? Here's What Brewers World Series Game 1 Tickets Cost

Brewers fans hoping to see Game 1 in person face a steep price, and supply on one major resale site is dwindling.

MILWAUKEE, WI — With Game 1 of the World Series one day away, Brewers fans hoping to grab a last-minute seat at American Family Field will need to spend more than $2,000 just to get in the door, and far more to sit close to the action.

On Ticketmaster, a pair of seats directly behind home plate in Section 118, Row 2, was listed for a combined $33,223.50 as of Thursday afternoon, or more than $16,600 apiece.

At the other end of the market, the cheapest ticket for Friday's opener against the Tampa Bay Rays was listed at $2,301 on TickPick, a resale site that doesn't add service fees. The average Game 1 listing on the site was close to $5,000.

Supply is thin, too. Roughly 700 tickets for Game 1 were still available on TickPick Thursday, according to its listings.

Other resale sites show the same sticker shock. Game 1 get-in prices on StubHub started at $2,748 as of Thursday, though that figure has dropped about $400 in recent days, according to USA Today.

Earlier in the week, prices were climbing fast. The cheapest Game 1 seat stood at $2,809 on Monday, up 41 percent over three days and 165 percent over the previous week, according to TicketData figures.

A Forbes contributor also reported that the cheapest Game 1 seat on SeatGeek, where the Brewers direct fans for home World Series tickets, hit $2,842 on Oct. 19 after he had seen the same seat listed for less than $900 earlier.

Game 2 on Saturday isn't much cheaper. As of Thursday, TickPick listed Game 2 seats starting at $2,045, while potential Games 6 and 7 back in Milwaukee started at $2,115 and $2,268, respectively. Fans willing to travel can find far cheaper seats in St. Petersburg, Florida, where Games 3 through 5 at Tropicana Field started between roughly $776 and $864.

The demand reflects how long Milwaukee has waited. The Brewers are in the World Series for the first time since 1982, when they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games as an American League club.

Milwaukee posted baseball's best record at 103-59, earning home-field advantage, then swept the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.

Neither franchise has won a World Series, so the series will crown a first-time champion. First pitch Friday is set for 7 p.m. Central on Fox, with Jacob Misiorowski getting the Game 1 start for Milwaukee.

Resale prices change constantly and could rise or fall before first pitch.
