The Best Burger In The Milwaukee Area: Patch Readers Offer Suggestions

MILWAUKEE, WI — Ahead of National Burger Day on Saturday, we're trying to find the best burger in the Milwaukee area.

So on Tuesday, we asked Patch readers in every corner of the county what they thought.

We received plenty of responses through Facebook, making it clear that there are tons of spots around Milwaukee County to go out and grab a burger. But which one is the best? Which establishments are worth venturing out to on National Burger Day?

You could head over to McDonald's for a Big Mac, like one Wisconsin man has been doing nearly every day for the past 50 years.

Another option could be Solly's Grille in Glendale. In February, the James Beard Foundation named Solly's one of "America's Classics" for its "rich, creamy" butter burger.

Culver's and countless other Wisconsin establishments also offer butter burgers, but the James Beard Foundation asserted that Solly's "put it on the map."

Another icon that plenty around Milwaukee County will recognize is Kopp's. Both locations in Greenfield and Glendale offer burgers that are bigger than your face and an ever-changing menu of fresh custard.

One reader in Franklin, Laura C. D., commented about Greenfield Kopps: "Fried onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato and ketchup. Yummy 😋"
