Christmas Commuters Should Expect Rain On The Roads: WI Weather

MILWAUKEE — Anyone driving to work or traveling for Christmas this weekend should expect wet conditions on the roads.

"Drizzle and fog this morning will gradually transition to steady rainfall by this afternoon. Heading into the overnight hours, fog is expected to redevelop across southern Wisconsin," the National Weather Service said.

"Fog is expected to be dense at times overnight. Saturday will bring some breaks in the rainfall. The chances for rain continue Christmas eve with chances increasing Christmas day."

Friday: A slight chance of drizzle before noon, then rain, mainly after 3pm. High near 45. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Rain, mainly before 11pm. Patchy fog between 11pm and 5am. Low around 40. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 46. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 42. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of rain after noon. Patchy fog between 9am and 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 53. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph.

Sunday Night: A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 45. South wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Christmas Day: Rain. High near 50. South wind 10 to 15 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Rain. Low around 43. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
