Christmas Eve Fire in Milwaukee Displaces 8 People, 9 Dogs
A Milwaukee firefighter was bit multiple times while rescuing the dogs. Now they, and two families need to find a home for Christmas.

MILWAUKEE -- Eight people and nine dogs were displaced on Saturday, Dec. 24, after a fire at home in Milwaukee. A Milwaukee firefighter was also bit multiple times as he worked to rescue the dogs.
The Christmas Eve fire took place at a residence near 83rd and Sheridan Ave. on Milaukee's north side. According to a report by FOX 6, the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to the home just before noon.

Fire crews worked to rescue the dogs, and in the process, one of the firemen was bitten by a Rottweiler dog, FOX 6 has learned. The fireman was treated and sent home.

According to another report by FOX 6, the fire was reportedly caused by a candle that had been knocked over in a bedroom. The blaze, which caused an estimated $35,000 in damage, left two families without a home.
All nine dogs were successfully rescued, but they, and eight people, have been displaced on Christmas Eve.
