Davis Mallory Gets 'Loud' at Milwaukee Pride

Star from MTV's The Real World Performs Tracks From His Upcoming Album

Davis Mallory from MTV’s The Real World takes the Milwaukee Pride stage this Sunday at 3:55pm. He plans to raise the volume for an hour long set that begins with the title track from his upcoming Loud album.

Co-written with Mitchell Rose and produced by Ricca Vita and J. Hanna, 'Loud' is a funky, chilled, head-swinging R&B track about hooking up. “It’s a bit outside of the norm of what I usually write and sing about,” the out-artist admits. “It was inspired by a guy, another singer-songwriter, who I had a major crush on. At the time, I couldn't figure out how he felt about me but he turned out to be straight. He has a girlfriend now.”

Two remixes of “Loud” are out now. Davis plans to perform the version by Los Angeles-based producer BPT.

Following 'Loud,' Davis will slow it down, performing his lush, heartfelt ballad, 'Under Your Spell'. Then he will debut new tracks from his album including 'Ocean Blue,' a song he wrote detailing the great lengths he says he would travel for someone he is in love with; 'Distance,' a song he wrote with Bay Brooks (who competed on NBC’s The Voice); and 'Not That Far Away,' a song about going to heaven that Davis wrote over a beat by Nashville based pop-producer Jon Santana.

He will also perform his hit single from last year, 'Anyone Would Know,' about love equality.

Born and raised in Marietta, GA, Davis grew up in a musical family. His uncle John Mallory wrote songs for Sixpence None the Richer and Wynona Judd. His uncle Chaz Corzine managed Amy Grant.

Davis, himself, has had an impressive history in music, continuing his relationship with MTV as a music news correspondent for their LGBT network, NewNowNext, where he interviewed artists including Ellie Goulding, Janelle Monae and NERVO. He later worked in A&R and promotion at Capitol Records, engaging campaigns for David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, and Kylie Minogue. While at Astralwerks, Davis began training as a DJ and dabbling in songwriting.

In 2013, Davis moved to Nashville to focus solely on songwriting and recording music. From 2015 through 2016, he wrote over 130 songs. He selected those he felt were the most homogenous to create the Loud album.

“I channel my emotions into my music, hoping they resonate with others,” he explains. “I’m excited about this record and I’m eager to perform the tracks at Pride. This is my time to be heard and I’m prepared to get loud.”

Davis Mallory’s set at Milwaukee Pride begins Sunday, June 11 at 3:55PM and ends at 4:55PM. He will follow the show with a meet & greet beginning at 5PM. Davis Mallory’s 'Loud' is available now. The album releases in July. For more information, visit DavisMallory.com.
