Deputies Keeping A Closer Eye On Traffic Over Labor Day Weekend
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's office reminds the public to enjoy the three-day weekend safely.

MILWAUKEE, WI — As we approach the Labor Day weekend, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public to drive safely and to celebrate responsibly.
"Drinking and driving under the influence contributed to more than 80 percent of the wrong-way drivers’ incidents in the last three years in Milwaukee County. Drinking and driving is against the law," sheriff's officials said.
Here are some public safety tips to remember, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office:

- Obey all drinking and driving laws
- Move over a lane for emergency vehicles, tow trucks and first responders
- Slow down for emergency vehicles, tow trucks and first responders
- Slow down for weather, road and construction work conditions
- Designate a sober, responsible, and licensed driver
- Use one of the many alternative forms of transportation available to the public
- Underage drinking is against the law
The sheriff's office in Milwaukee encourages residents and visitors to enjoy area parks and have fun at the lakefront. And, also reminds the public to follow the code of conduct signs posted at County Parks and to obey all drinking and driving laws.
