Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.
Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.
- Coats for Kids - Donate new children's winter coats needed; all sizes, especially for the very young, (sizes 2-8). Ideal opportunity for groups. Contact Penfield Children's Center at ellenanderson@penfieldchildren.org or 414-345-6376.
- Marketing Intern - Promote home ownership programs by assisting marketing and communications efforts as an intern for Housing Resources; 6-12 month internship starts Jan. 18. Contact Trena_Bond@hri-wi.org or 414-461-6330.
- Wellness Holiday Event - Share your skills in aromatherapy, massage, meditation/relaxation/visualization or balancing chakras Dec. 15 at Holiday Wellness Fair for Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers. Contact kate.jaeger@sschc.org or 414-897-5184.
- Ambassadors - Welcome and assist patients and visitors at Aurora Health Care West Allis facility; day, evening or weekend hours. Complete an online application.
- Snow Shoveling - Shovel snow for seniors and neighbors through Cudahy St. Francis Interfaith program this winter. Contact csfinterfaith@hotmail.com or 414-483-4474.
- Holiday Food and Fund Drive - Direct traffic and collect donated food and funds at Bayshore Town Center Friday, Dec. 15. Contact Feeding America at dberka@feedingamericawi.org or 414-831-6326.
