Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.
Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.
- Feed the Hungry and Homeless - Prepare and serve breakfast to those who are hungry and homeless 7:00-10:00 a.m. weekdays; groups and individuals welcome. Contact The Gathering at angela@thegatheringwis.org or 414-272-4122.
- Tutor Me Please - Tutor elementary school students in reading and math or tutor middle and high school students in all subjects after school at Silver Spring Neighborhood Center. Contact dhudson@ssnc-milw.org or (414) 463-7950.
- Be a Guide - Guide visitors through the newly renovated War Memorial Center, assist with school programs and provide tours for special events. Contact education@warmemorialcenter.org or 414-273-5533.
- Bingo Help - Assist seniors in Independent Living during Friday afternoon Bingo games for St. Camillus/San Camillo. Contact lbartelt@stcam.com or 414-259-4610.
- Office Assistance - Verify insurance, file charts and create spreadsheets weekdays for Hometown Hospice & Homecare in Brookfield. Contact rmiers@hometownhh.com or 262-796-0600.
- Daddy Daughter Dance - Decorate, register guests, check coats and help in dining room or photo booth for Milwaukee Recreation’s Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday, February 17 at smith28@milwaukee.k12.wi.us or 414-773-9823.
