Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.
Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.
- AARP Driver Safety Program - Organize, promote, and conduct Driver Safety classroom courses at your local community center, library, hospital or senior center; training and curriculum provided. Contact mmuzzi@aarp.org or 608-286-6303.
- After School Tutor/Mentor - Tutor and mentor a high school student in after school program once a week; south or northwest locations. Contact Carmen High School Of Science And Technology at christieb@carmenhighschool.org or 414-837-4000.
- MPS Student Job Fair - Greet buses, check in schools, supervise students during interview and assist with MPS Student Job Fair activities March 14. Contact smith28@milwaukee.k12.us or (414) 773-9823.
- Office Help - File and organize BMI screening forms and possibly assist with data entry weekdays at Aurora Bluemound Business Office in Elm Grove. Complete an online application.
- Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss - Assist with games, face painting, crafts and cookie decorating at Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration Sat., March 3 at Central Milwaukee Public Library. Contact dmwrobl@milwaukee.gov or 414-286-3000 ext. 3077.
- Figth for Air Climb - Register participants, hand out water or monitor the stairs during the Fight for Air Climb on Sat., March 10 at U.S. Bank. Sign up here or contact American Lung Association at EventsWI@Lung.org.
