Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.
- Assist with activity stations and encourage children to sign up for the Milwaukee Public Library’s summer reading challenge June 16 at the Central branch. Fill out an online application.
- Serve meals to children in Milwaukee County parks during lunch and dinner times weekdays June 23 through the end of August. Contact Milwaukee Center for Independence at manadra.rainey@mcfi.net or (414) 937-2020.
- Tutor students and lead reading groups mornings or assist with recreation activities and field trips afternoons at Milwaukee Academy Of Science. Contact volunteercoordinator@MAScience.org or (414) 933-0302.
- Groups are needed to plan, purchase, prepare and come to serve an evening meal at the Guest House of Milwaukee, a shelter for adult men experiencing homelessness. Contact johnny@guesthouseofmilwaukee.org or (414) 316-2012.
- Register participants, organize food, assist along the course and hand out water on June 9 at a half marathon & 5k at Estabrook Park benefiting Paralyzed Veterans of America-Wisconsin Chapter. Sign up here.
- Attend to parking, assist on field and staff a concession stand for the WIAA Girls State Soccer Championships June 14-16; various shifts. Contact Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club at angieo@mksc.org or (414) 358-2678.
- Set up and tear down courts, register players, coordinate judges, keep score and more at Junior National Badminton Championships June 27 to July 3 for Visit Milwaukee. Sign up here.
