Do good. Feel great. Volunteer!

Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.

  • Become a voice for children in foster care as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Evening and Saturday training begins October 3. Contact Kids Matter at lance.jones@kidsmatterinc.org or 414-344-1220.
  • Be a friend and help guide a Milwaukee child, age 6-18, for two years. Contact Big Brothers Big Sisters at StartSomething@bbbsmilwaukee.org or (414) 831-4563.
  • Assist in PE/Gym and Health class with middle school students at Milwaukee Academy Of Science; flexible weekday hours. Contact volunteercoordinator@MAScience.org or 414-933-0302.
  • File paperwork, make copies, collate educational materials and put together admission packets; Germantown location. Contact Serenity Hospice Care at awissinger@preceptorhc.com or 262-735-4297.
  • Chop, blanch, freeze, and can fresh produce to feed the hungry Thursdays 11:00am-1:30pm, September-November for The Gathering. Contact angela@thegatheringwis.org or 414-272-4122.
  • Set up, register walkers, hand out T-shirts or distribute food at Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk in Milwaukee Sat., Sept 29. Contact Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation at jkveen@glhf.org or 414-257-0200.
