Do good. Feel great. Volunteer!

Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.

  • Answer the crisis line and provide information and intervention to victims of sexual trauma weekends or overnight. Training begins Oct. 23; register by Oct. 9. Contact Aurora Healing and Advocacy Services at HealingVolunteer@aurora.org or 414-219-5228.
  • Promote Milwaukee Public Library programs, resources, and services at community events including school open houses, health fairs and block parties. Complete an Online Volunteer Application or contact dmwrobl@milwaukee.gov or 414-286-3077.
  • Read with children ages 2 to 5 in small groups or one-on-one weekday mornings or afternoons at Next Door’s 29th Street or Capitol Drive location. Contact mstevens@nextdoormil.org or 414- 562-2929.
  • Ring up sales, label sold items, price smaller items and answer phones as a cashier at Habitat For humanity ReStore in Greenfield. Contact nciaccio@milwaukeehabitat.org or 414-366-0853.
  • Provide care to young children weekdays at FRIENDS, Inc., an agency providing domestic and sexual violence programs in West Bend. Contact TLPAdvocate@friendswi.org or 262-334-5598.
  • Remove invasive weeds and shrubs in various Milwaukee County Parks. Saturdays 9am-noon in October and November. Learn more here. Contact us.
