Do good. Feel great. Volunteer!

Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukeefeatures both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.

  • Receive a one-day training Sat., November 3 on how to work with people in crisis on-scene at local disasters such as fires and floods in our community; 6-month commitment. Register here or contact American Red Cross at 414-345-8655.
  • Provide care and support for children in group programs at Milwaukee Center For Children And Youth, an agency that provides services to youth who have been abused and/or neglected. Contact referral@mccy.org or 414-248-3996.
  • Help families with children make Halloween-themed art projects at Bay View, Washington and Madison high schools Sat. evening, October 27. Contact Artists Working in Education at tatiana@awe-inc.org or 414-933-3877.
  • Take tickets, distribute and count ballots, assist at will call and direct people in line for movies at Milwaukee Film Festival October 18-November 1; various shifts. Register here.
  • Assist families and train fans at America’s Largest Operating Model Railroad Show at State Fair Park November 10 and 11. Sign up here.
  • Greet guests, sell food, monitor exhibits or assist at the walk during the Holiday Folk Fair, November 16-18. Contact International Institute of Wisconsin at volunteers@folkfair.org or 414-225-6220.
  • Collect winter coats for women and children of all ages served by Meta House, an agency providing substance abuse treatment. Contact ljacobson@metahouse.org or 414-977-5823.
