Do good. Feel great. Volunteer!

Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukeefeatures both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.

  • Donate new toys for Christmas for children ages birth to 10 years or give out toys to families; an ideal project for churches, schools, businesses and families. See toy list here. Contact Capuchin Community Services at (414) 933-1300 ext. 1113 or CapHolidayDrives@thecapuchins.org.
  • Help Milwaukee residents file taxes, Feb 1-April 18; free certification in tax preparation starts in December. Contact Riverworks Development Corp. at corettah@riverworksmke.org or (414) 906-9650.
  • Welcome and assist patients and visitors at Aurora Health Care locations in Cudahy, West Allis, St. Francis and the Good Hope Road Clinic; days, evenings or weekends. Complete an online application or contact michelle.tisljar@aurora.org or (262) 329-4615.
  • Donate winter warming room items for women served by Benedict Center such as socks, hats, gloves, scarves, warm clothing, blankets, coats, backpacks, hygiene products and more. Contact kbauer@benedictcenter.org or (414) 347-1774 ext. 221.
  • Groups are needed to plan, purchase, prepare and come to serve an evening meal at the Guest House of Milwaukee, a shelter for adult men experiencing homelessness. Contact johnny@guesthouseofmilwaukee.org or (414) 316-2012.
  • Help with set-up, registration, hospitality and more at USA Weightlifting Finals Dec. 5-9 at the Wisconsin Center; various shifts. Sign up here.
